3D Printing Service Pricing: Per-Unit Cost by Material and Volume Tier

Pricing is per-unit. The more you print, the lower the per-unit cost. We show the math so you can plan.

Affordable 3D Printing Without Cutting Corners on Quality

You want a fair price. You want the part to work. Those goals are not in conflict. We use FDM because it scales well, costs less than the alternatives, and prints in real engineering polymers.

We do not pad the quote. The number you see covers material, print time, post-processing, packaging, and shipping inside the US. If your part needs extra work, we list that work as a separate line item on the quote.

Per-Unit Pricing Tiers: 1 to 49, 50 to 499, 500 to 4,999, 5,000-Plus

We price by volume tier. A small batch of one to forty-nine parts costs more per unit than a production run of five hundred parts. That same part at five thousand parts costs less per unit again.

The cost per part drops because setup, file prep, and shipping spread across more units. Material cost stays flat per gram, but per-part overhead shrinks.

Material Cost Comparison: PLA vs PETG vs ABS vs PA-CF

PLA and PETG sit in the same low cost band. ABS sits in the middle. PA-CF sits at the top because carbon-fiber-filled nylon costs more per kilogram and prints slower.

TPU sits above PETG and below PA-CF. TPU prints slowly, which adds machine time to the cost.

See per-material specs at materials.

Shipping Costs and Lead Times by Volume

Standard ground shipping is included in the quote on most orders. Heavy or oversized orders use freight, which we quote as a separate line item. Expedited shipping is available at cost.

Lead times run three to five business days on prototype runs, five to ten on production runs of fifty to five hundred parts, and ten to twenty on bigger runs. See production runs for the full tier breakdown.

How to Lower Your Per-Unit Cost

Four moves drop per-unit cost without dropping quality. Move to a higher volume tier when you can. Pick PETG instead of PA-CF when strength is not the issue. Hollow the part where the design allows. Avoid finishing steps your buyer does not need.

We will flag these on your quote if they apply. If a smaller change to the part saves twenty percent on cost, we tell you.
